Harvest Box: community supported agriculture

Commonly known as CSA for short — a Community Supported Agriculture Program is a produce box subscription that gives farmers peace of mind knowing that someone will buy the produce they are working so hard to grow. All produce is grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, or artificial fertilizers. Support sustainable agricultural practices!

How it works:

Members pick up a box of produce every other week, containing a mix of fruits, vegetables, and herbs harvested directly from our farm sites! We like to think of our CSA program as a mutual aid initiative. Healthy and organic food is the best form of preventive medicine; and your continued support directly aids our farmers and operations to keep growing.  Late enrollment eligible. Upfront or Recurring payment options. Mini or Regular size. Delivery fee charge or pick up options. 2024 SUBSCRIPTION HAS FINISHED. 2025 SUBSCRIPTION COMING SOON!

gardening in community

The Huerta del Valle community garden currently hosts 62 family plots. Each plot is 20’x10’ and are rented for one year. We provide water, compost, tools, and when available seeds.

All produce you grow is yours to consume or share as you please. As a community gardener you enjoy a 365 day growing year and the support of experienced gardeners and farmers to help you succeed in producing a lot of food

Each plot required a symbolic yearly payment of $60 and can be paid in installments.

Abejas

The Abejas (little bees) program is an exploration into topics of social equity, ecology and wellbeing.

Abejas is available for all children ages K-6th.

This program will be available in Spring 2024.

Agricultores del Valle - New Farmer Training Program

Did you know that on average food travels 1500 miles to get to your plate? Or how about how many and what chemicals your food is grown with?

It is important that we invest in maintaining our local food system, so that we can rely less on global sources of food that ultimately pollute our bodies and soil.

Regional farmers are essential to the health of our local ecosystems, foodways, and economies. Unfortunately, farmers are aging out across the nation and we are in need of growing the next generation of farmers who will have the skills, faith and vision to restore our food system and maintain the remaining historic agricultural lands in our region.

We need new farmers to assist us in creating a better and greener future for our region!

Students that complete the program are also eligible to apply to our incubation program where they can access land, technical assistance, and equipment to begin growing the farm of their dreams!

The Farmer Training Program will be available 2024.
